2 hospitalized after driver fails to yield

WINFIELD- Two people were injured in an accident just after 4 p.m. on Sunday in Cowley County

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Walter E. Meyer, 85, Winfield, was eastbound on 222nd Road crossing U.S. 77.

The driver and failed to yield to a 2003 GMC passenger vehicle which was northbound on US 77.

The Chevy rolled onto its side and landed in east ditch. The GMC went through a fence and came to rest in the east ditch.

Meyer and a passenger Gay M. Meyer, 80, Winfield, were transported to William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

The KHP reported the driver of the GMC Shanna Jaylene Riddle, 37, Douglass, was possibly injured and that all were properly restrained at the time of the collision.
