Man returns, finds Kansas home empty

Burglary  SALINA – Police are investigating a residential burglary in Salina.

Authorities reported most of the property inside the home appears to have been stolen.

The homeowner, Jim Windell, 35, who now lives at a different location reported the burglary on Friday.

The items taken included a safe that Windell said contained $8,000 in cash, a 56-inch flat screen TV, furniture, appliances, clothing, a $7,000 comic book collection, laptop computers, and a central air conditioning unit.

Police say there did appear to be signs of forced entry and the burglary occurred sometime after June 9. The loss is estimated at $47,100.
