Fort Hays State’s Dom Samac has been named the MIAA men’s basketball Player of the Week.
Samac led the Tigers with a double-double performance of 19 points and 13 rebounds in the 94-50 non-conference win at home over Northwestern Oklahoma State. He was 8-of-11 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 at the free-throw line. Eleven of his 13 rebounds were on the defensive end, helping the Tigers outrebound the Rangers by 15 in the game. It was Samacs second double-double of the season in points and rebounds as he helped the Tigers to a season-high 64.7 percent shooting performance as a team from the field.
The 6-9 junior forward is a native of Zagreb, Croatia and competed at North Broward Prep and Denver University.
