WAKEENEY — Beef producers are invited to see and learn with an interactive, hands-on demonstration of how to increase the number of live calves born.
Dr. Dave Rethorst, DVM Beef Cattle Institute, will show and illustrate with a life-size model cow with baby calf how to recognize normal and abnormal presentations, manage a difficult birth, and answer questions.
The Calving School will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 beginning at the Trego County Fairgrounds 4-H Building.
There is no charge to attend, but RSVP requested for meal count by Monday to Golden Plains Extension District, (785) 743-6361.
