While there are still a few things to move the new Ellis County Administrative Center in downtown Hays opens to the public Tuesday morning.
Employees have spent the past week moving from the courthouse to their new permanent location at 718 Main, the former Commerce Bank.
With the move also comes new office hours.
In August, the Ellis County Commission approved changing hours to the public to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Jan. 6.
Employees will still work 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The change, according to commissioners and staff, allows employees to catch up from the day’s activities and prepare for the next day.
