ELLINWOOD – One person was injured in an accident just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday in Barton County.

The Barton County Sheriff’s office reported a 2004 Toyota Tacoma driven by Kevin Kramp, Ellinwood, was eastbound in the 700 Block of Northeast 40 Road.

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and went left of center. The driver overcorrected. The vehicle traveled to the left shoulder and the driver lost control. The vehicle traveled into the south ditch, hit a power pole and overturned.
The power pole broke and power lines landed on the vehicle.

Kramp was transported to the hospital in Ellinwood where he was treated for minor injuries to the face and possible head trauma.

It was determined that alcohol may have played a factor in the collision according to the Sheriff’s Department. The accident remains under investigation.
