HUTCHINSON — Fire crews were sent to the Landmark Hotel in Hutchison on Thursday evening to check out a report of water coming from the upper floors of the 90 year-old, vacant hotel.
Officials reported they found water coming from windows on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.
The origin of the leak in the five-story brick and limestone building was found between the 4th and 5th floors.
Water was shut down to the building.
Westar Energy and Kansas Gas Service also shut down their utilities to the building. The water damage to the building is significant.
Barricades are located on the north sidewalk along west 5th Avenue as water continued to seep out of the building.
It will remain closed for several days. No injuries were reported. An investigation continues.
