GARDEN CITY- One person was injured in an accident just after 5 p.m. on Friday in Finney County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy truck driven by Timothy D. Routin, 61, Garden City, was traveling on Jones Avenue at Boots Road 2 miles west of Garden City.

A 2006 Scion passenger vehicle driven by Carmelita Leyva, 38, Garden City, was following the truck too closely. The Scion rear-ended the truck during a left turn.

A 9-year old child in the Scion was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital. Routin and Leyva were not injured.

The KHP reported all were properly restrained at the time of the collision.
