CLAY CENTER – A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday in Clay County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Toyota Corolla driven by GeorgeAnn Wilken, 47, Clay Center, was southbound on Kansas 15 five miles south of Clay Center.

The driver swerved to the left to avoid and an animal. The drive overcorrected. The vehicle traveled into the west ditch, overturned and hit a power pole.

Wilken was transported to Clay County Hospital.
The KHP reported she was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
