There are now six people registered for the four open seats on the Hays USD 489 school board.

Jerald J. Braun, Hays, and Leslie Blagrave, Munjor, both filed Thursday.

Braun is a former USD 489 teacher at Hays Middle school and is currently employed at  Sunflower Child Support Services Office, Hays, and Fort Hays State University.

Blagrave is listed as working at the traveler’s insurance business,  American Heritage Agency Inc., Hays.

In the running now are current board members Sarah Rankin and Greg Schwartz along with Luke Oborny, Miranda Fox, Braun and Blagrave.

The deadline to file for the Ellis County 2015 city/school elections is noon Tuesday.

The Ellis County City/School Election is April 7, 2015

Applications can be picked up at Ellis County Clerk’s office located inside the new county building at 718 Main in Hays, the Victoria City Clerk’s office, 1005 Fourth St, Victoria, KS 67671 and the Ellis City Clerk’s office, Ellis, KS 67637.
