GREAT BEND -Officials from the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office and Barton County Sheriff are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a vacant residence in the 100 Block of Southwest 10 Avenue.

While on routine patrol, Barton County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the structure fire on Thursday afternoon.

When fire crews arrived, the residence was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was quickly brought under control. No utilities were hooked up at the time of the fire.

There were no injuries.
