HUTCHINSON — Fire crews responded to a structure fire just after 2 a.m. on Monday in the 300 Block of East Walker in Hutchinson.
When fire crews arrived they found smoke coming from the attic of the residence.
The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes with damage confined to the attic and kitchen area.
Officials say the fire caused about $11,000 in damage.
No one was home at the time of the fire. An electrical short is believed to have started the blaze.
