JUNCTION CITY – Law enforcement authorities in Junction City found items used for making explosive at a local residence.

Police Lt. Jeff Childs said the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office and Riley County Police bomb squad assisted in the investigation at a residence on Windwood Drive in reference to an earlier arrest.

Childs said several items suspected for the use of making explosives were located and collected.

The bomb squad was able to dispose of the suspected items.

The incident came to a successful conclusion at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday and there were no injuries. The Riley County Haz Mat Team, Fire Department and the FBI also participated during the investigation.
