SALINA- A Saline County man was injured in an accident just after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said a pickup driven by Ricky Liester, 55, was eastbound in the 4400 Block of East North Street. The driver lost control of the vehicle. It traveled into a ditch, struck trees and came to stop in the front yard of a home.

The homeowner, Herschel Sanders, helped Liester out of the truck after it caught fire.

Liester refused treatment at the scene. A private vehicle transported him later for treatment of a nose injury and deep cuts to his elbow according to the Sheriff.

The accident remains under investigation.
