HAYS – A Kansas man was injured in an accident during a chase by law enforcement just before 2 p.m. on Thursday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a trooper was in pursuit of a 2002 Alero Oldsmobile driven  by Jacob Riley Craft, 21, Lawrence, was westbound on Interstate 70 eight miles east of Hays.

The vehicle hit two sets of stop sticks and three tires deflated. The vehicle then crossed the median and hit a semi going eastbound.
Craft was transported to Hays Medical Center.

The semi driver was not injured.
The KHP reported Craft was not wearing a seat belt.
