2 hospitalized after SUV hits a slick spot

Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 5.13.15 AMBELOIT – Two people were injured in an accident just before 11 a.m. on Saturday in Mitchell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Tahoe driven by Nicholas K. Werthmann, 52, Cawker City, was east bound on U.S. 24 sixteen miles west of Beloit.

The vehicle hit a slick spot in road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it entered the south ditch.

Werthmann and a passenger Susan R. Werthmann, 49, Cawker City, were transported to Mitchell County Hospital.

The KHP reported both were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
