In a joint city/county board meeting Wednesday night a proposed .5% County Sales Tax to take effect upon expiration of the Hays Sports Complex sales tax was brought to the table. The discussion then turned to how cities in Ellis County might use their share, as when a county adopts a sales tax, the cities in the county receive about half of the revenues.

Other discussion included the future of the Public Safety Communications Center located in the County Law Enforcement Center Building.
