Seth Kastle, an instructor in Fort Hays State’s Leadership Studies Department, has been named the latest Covenant Builders Hometown Hero.
Seth will be honored at tonight’s Fort Hays State University basketball games, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Tonight is also Senior Night.
According to his nomination:
“Seth has been one of the most professional colleagues with whom I have interacted. His knowledge of leadership, work ethic, and care for the greater good make him an exceptional candidate for this program. He has been willing and enthusiastic to undertake the rigors of being an educator, member of the U.S. Army Reserve, an active member in his community, as well as a dedicated husband and father.”
“Seth recently retired from an outstanding 15 year decorated career in the U.S. Army Reserve, serving tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and then mentoring many young men and women as a First Sergeant. While in Afghanistan, Seth served as a liaison between coalition forces and the Jordanian Army in support of the United Nations humanitarian effort. In his short time here at FHSU as full-time faculty member he has served as an advisor to a new student organization (Student Veteran’s Association), co-created Green Zone, a Veteran Awareness training for faculty and staff, and has been involved in Jana’s Campaign, bringing multiple military personnel to trainings on the prevention of gender-based violence.”
Kastle grew up in Kensington and he and his family currently resides in Wakeeney, KS.
