Ellis County will officially introduce Darin Myers as the new Ellis County Rural Fire Director at Monday evening’s county commission meeting.
Myers was hired earlier this year to take over for current Rural Chief Dick Klaus.
Klaus announced his retirement last year and will retire later this year.

In other business the county commission will discuss a drinking establishment license application from Defiance Brewery.
The commission will also discuss a proposal for a sound system at the Administrative Center submitted by two local companies.
Monday’s county commission meeting is at 5:00 p.m. in the basement meeting room of the Ellis County Administrative Center.
