One person was injured in an accident just after 10:30 a.m. on Monday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Dodge Ram truck driven by Mark D. Brackney, 48, Hays, was northbound on Commerce Parkway at Interstate 70.

A 2005 Hyundai Elantra driven by Samuel S. Long, 24, Roanoke, Va., stopped at the exit stop sign and pulled in front of the truck.

The truck struck the right rear driver’s side of the Hyundai.

A passenger in the Hyundai Melanie E. Wallace, 21, Fincastle, Vt., was transported to Hays Medical Center.

Brackney, Long and two additional passengers in the Hyundai were not injured.

The KHP reported all were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
