Vaughn M. Young, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas.

Vaughn was born October 30, 1923 in Greeley County, Kansas, the son of Lon A. & Eleanor Dorothy Morgan Young.

A lifetime resident of Greeley County, Kansas and a 1941 graduate of Greeley County High School, he was a farmer/stockman retiring in 2008.

Vaughn was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tribune, Kansas and had formally served as an Area Elder.

On June 2, 1946 he married Frances Surprise at the Surprise family homestead in Greeley County, Kansas.

Vaughn’s surviving family includes-
His Wife Frances Young of Tribune.

His five children Karen & Gary Allen of Sharon Springs, Keith and Janice Young of Tribune, Kathy and Jim Shafer of Manhattan, Kevin and Jerri Young of Tribune and Kriss and Marsha Young of Weskan.

Three siblings -Verdell and Hazel Young of Tribune, Barbara and Darwin Hoffman of Tribune and Ralph and Carrol Young of Tribune.

Thirteen Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.

His parents, a sister, Mae O’Dell and a grandson, Ty Shafer, precede him in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am (MST) Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with nephews Jerry Young and Larry Hoffman officiating.

Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.

Friends may call from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday and from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Hospital in care of the funeral home.
