SALINA- Law enforcement authorities in Salina arrested a woman on Thursday after she left children alone in a car while she when shopping.

Salina Police Captain Chris Trocheck said Eunice Sanchez, 31, McPherson, left an 8-year-old girl, and 1-year-old girl in her car while shopping at Wal-Mart.

Another shopper who left the store just after 9:30 p.m. noticed the two girls alone, and called police.

Sanchez was arrested at 10p.m. when she returned to the car.

The girls were placed in the custody of their grandmother.
