A penalty kick was the difference Thursday as the TMP girls soccer team swept their season series with Hays High winning 1-0 at Hays High.

Tyra Younnie scored a first-half penalty kick putting the Monarchs up 1-0 and they would hold on for the win.

The Monarchs and Indians opened the season against each other with TMP winning 5-0.

The Monarchs improved to 7-2 on the season and will travel to Wichita Independent Friday.

Hays High drops to 4-7-1 and they play at Garden City on Monday.
