Fees are expected to dominate discussion at Monday’s Hays USD 489 Board of Education work session Monday.

Pay-to-participate, which would implement a new fee for extracurricular activities, again will be a topics of conversation.

A proposed increase in school lunch prices also is on the agenda.

Also at Monday’s work session, board members will:

• Hear an update on the repurposing of Washington Elementary School. Washington will close as a Hays USD 489 education center at the end of the 2014-15 school year.

• Hear an update from administration on the state and district technology plans.

• Discuss renewing membership in the Kansas Association of School Boards.
