LOS ANGELES (AP) – The filmmaker who made the upcoming movie about rap group N.W.A. is taking on a very different project. Alan Wenkus is now working on a film about George Jones. Wenkus is working with Jones’ widow, Nancy, for the film “No Show Jones.” It will follow Jones’ rise to fame, his marriage to Tammy Wynette, his struggles with substance abuse and his marriage to Nancy, who he credited with saving him from his demons. The N.W.A. movie, “Straight Outta Compton,” comes out Aug. 14.
