Leonard worked in the oil field for 19 years before taking up driving a semi-truck for the next 27 years. He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church of Ellis and Knights of Columbus. He volunteered to do the grass mowing for St. Mary’s Church and School in Ellis for 17 years.

Games were always a big part of his life. He used that time to teach his family about winning, losing, laughing and sharing. Music was also a very important part of Leonard’s everyday life. He enjoyed playing guitar and harmonica and singing. His precious memory and talent lives on through the musical skills of several sons and grandsons.

As his children grew up, they all received a special gift from Leonard—understanding the value of family. By example Leonard instilled this in each child. To this day they are all still married to their same spouses and blessed with his “importance of family”. Leonard also taught them that it isn’t money that makes them rich – it’s their Faith, their Family and their Friends.

God bless you, Dad, because He sure blessed us.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Ellis. Together they shared 64 years together where they loved and raised six children: Donna Schoenthaler (Doug), Ellis; Patti Unrein (Joe), Hays; Jerry Weber (Joan), Kansas City; Bill Weber (Elaine), Wakeeney; Ed Weber (Charlene), Ellis; and, Curtis Weber (Mary Kay), Ellis. There are 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren to carry on his love. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Robinett, brother George Weber (Charlotte), and step-siblings Agnes Richmeier (Edwin), Alfred Flax (Ida), Paul Flax, and Albertina Fehrenbach.
