Yes, you were hot yesterday. That’s because the high temperature in Hays reached 105 degrees.

Not warm enough though for the record.

It hit 113 degrees in Hays June 30, 1933, according to official records maintained by Joe Becker at the K-State Ag Research Center just south of town.

The overnight low in Hays was 76 degrees.

One year ago–June 30, 2014–the high in Hays was a much cooler 92 degrees.

Cooler temperatures and a chance of precipitation are in the forecast for the July 4th holiday weekend.
