GREAT BEND -For the last several days, area law enforcement officers have been on the lookout for Rory Wright, who recently escaped from law enforcement custody in Pawnee County.

Just after 9 a.m. on Thursday Great Bend Police Officers received information indicating that Mr. Wright was possibly at a residence on Maple Street in Great Bend.

The owner of the house gave officers permission to search the house and they found Wright inside.

He was taken into custody and turned over to the Barton County Jail.

Great Bend Police Chief Cliff Couch said “All of the law enforcement agencies in our area put a great deal of effort into recovering this escapee. Many officers from many different agencies have worked tirelessly to ensure that he was captured and returned to the custody of the justice system. I’m glad to work in an area where so many different officers, wearing so many different uniforms, could work together and bring this situation to an end.”
