WASHINGTON- A Kansas woman died in an accident just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in Washington County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Chevy Trailblazer driven by Sheila Marie Krzykowski, 50, Washington, was southbound on Kansas 9 just south of National Road.

The vehicle entered the ditch, traveled down an embankment, became airborne and struck a fence.

Krzykowski was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Ward Funeral Home.

She was not wearing a seat belt according to the KHP.
