Kansas woman hospitalized after vehicle hits exit sign

WICHITA- A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just before 3a.m. on Sunday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Nissan passenger vehicle driven by Shelby Lynn Crain, 23, Wichita, was westbound on Kansas 96 at Hydraulic in the right-hand lane

The vehicle veered right, entered the gore area between Kansas 96 and North Hydraulic, struck the green exit sign, traveled down the embankment, vaulted, struck the bottom of the ditch, and came to rest on the railroad tracks.

Crain was transported to Wesley Medical Center.

She was properly restrained at the time of the accident according to the KHP.
