The Hays Monarchs 18U American Legion baseball team beat Canon City, Colorado 6-3 in Sunday’s consolation finals to finish 3-2 at the Wild West Fest tournament.

The Monarchs scored three in the third then two in the fifth after falling behind 2-0 after one inning.

Braiden Werth picks up the win striking out four and waking just one in 6 2/3 innings of relief.

The Monarchs are now 16-6 on the year. They play at Dodge City Thursday.
