The Hays Larks rally for six runs in the eighth inning as they overcome an early 5-0 deficit to beat the Dodge City A’s 10-7 Tuesday night at Larks Park. Corky Welch hit a two-run homer to give the Larks the lead for good as they score five runs after a two-out Dodge City fielding error in short center field.

Michael Burns hit a solo homer and Reggie Wilson a two-run shot helping Hays snap a four-game losing streak and end the A’s four-game win streak.

Shawn Hunter gets the win after an inning and a third of scoreless relief. DJ Carr worked a perfect ninth for his third save. Michael Burns went 4-for-5 as the Larks move 16-16 and are 12-14 in the Jayhawk League where they trail first-place El Dorado by five games and second place Liberal by 4 1/2 in the North Division.
The Larks and A’s play Wednesday in Dodge City before returning to Hays to close out the series Thursday.
