DESOTO- Two people were injured in an accident just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday in Leavenworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Gregory Vandestouwe, 58, Lansing, was northbound on 158th Road two miles north of Desoto.

The driver lost control of the motorcycle. It entered the west ditch and flipped. Both riders were ejected.

Vandestouwe and a passenger Cheryl L. Erwin, 56, Kansas City, were transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
The were not wearing helmets according to the KHP.
