An early morning shower gave Hays a bit of a soak Friday morning, with more than a tenth of an inch in gauges in Hays.

Reports from Hays ranged from 0.1 to 0.17 inches. There was a report of 0.15 inches north of Ellis.

Surrounding counties received anywhere from trace to just less than 0.2 inches of rain. The heaviest rain the area fell in Salina, where nearly 1.5 inches was reported.

A chance of rain and thunderstorms returns early Friday evening, with a 40 percent change of storms before 9 p.m.

The cool snap also appears to have ended, with temperatures nearing 90 degrees Friday and then reaching triple digits through Tuesday.
