HUTCHINSON — A Kansas teenager has been taken into custody after a short foot chase that began with a pickup hitting the front of a house in Hutchinson on Friday afternoon.
Police say that Alex Currie, 17, is in custody on suspicion of auto theft, flee and elude and felony obstruction.
Just before 2:30 p.m. an officer spotted a pickup, identified as a possible stolen vehicle, just west of Plum on East 9th Avenue.
The teenager apparently tried to flee but instead skidded through the T intersection and struck the front porch of the home on the east side of Plum.
Currie then fled on foot, and after two short chases was found hiding in some weeds near a box trailer
Police says a back pack was also recovered and searched did not say what they found
No one was injured during the chase, arrest or in the damaged home.
