Hot, breezy Saturday

FileLHigh pressure aloft will build into the southern plains this weekend, resulting in a return of hot weather. Highs today will range to near 102 degrees at Hays. Heat index values will be in the 100 to 105 degree range with mostly sunny skies, winds will be breezy from the south at 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph at times.

High temperatures on Sunday and Monday will again be around 100 degrees across the region. Thunderstorm chances make a return to the forecast as we get into the early part of the coming work week.

Today: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 72. South wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 104. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Sunny and hot, with a high near 103. West wind around 7 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon.
