High pressure aloft will build into the southern plains this weekend, resulting in a return of hot weather. Highs today will range to near 102 degrees at Hays. Heat index values will be in the 100 to 105 degree range with mostly sunny skies, winds will be breezy from the south at 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph at times.

High temperatures on Sunday and Monday will again be around 100 degrees across the region. Thunderstorm chances make a return to the forecast as we get into the early part of the coming work week.
