Kansas woman hospitalized after vehicle hits a deer

LAWRENCE – A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just after 6 a.m. on Sunday in Douglas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Nissan Murano driven by Sonji M. Daniels, 46, Topeka, was eastbound on U.S. 56 just west of U.S. 59.

The vehicle struck a deer in the roadway.

Daniels was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A passenger in the Nissan was not injured.

Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident according to the KHP.
