Small Business Administration team leads entrepreneur panel in Hays

Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Wichita District Office celebrated National Hot Dog Day at the Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers restaurant in Hays. The Hays establishment has been a successful SBA-financed franchise location.

The SBA contingent was in Hays for an entrepreneur roundtable Wednesday featuring three successful “encore entrepreneurs” at the Hays Welcome Center.

The panel included Leland Olive, owner of Couture for Men & Women; Phil Brokenicky, SBA’s Kansas Small Business Person of the Year and owner of New Horizons RV Corp. in Junction City, and Marvin Rack, owner of Northwestern Printers.

This Summer of Encore Mentoring event was hosted by Ron Newman, director of the Kansas Small Business Development Center in Hays, and Aaron White, executive director of the Ellis County Coalition for Economic Development.
