DODGE CITY — A Kansas woman died in an accident just before 5 p.m. on Thursday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a collision between a 2010 Ford Focus driven by Mary K Nichols, 58, Arkansas City, and a semi driven by Roman Kaczmarek, Ontario, Canada, occurred in the eastbound lane of U.S. 400.

Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kaczmarek was not injured.

The accident closed portions of the highway for several hours and is still under investigation.
