HANSTON- A Ness County man died in an accident just after 4 p.m. on Friday in Hodgeman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Mack Truck driven by Sergio Mendez, 45, Bazine, was northbound on Hodgeman County Road 228 five miles north of Hanston.

The driver’s side tire blew. The truck went into the ditch, rolled multiple times and the driver was ejected.

Mendez was transported to the Hodgeman County Health Center where he died.

He was not wearing a seat belt according to the KHP.
