2 adults, child hospitalized after truck driver fails to yield

SCOTT CITY -Three people were injured in an accident just before 6p.m. on Friday in Scott County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by Curtiss W. Chambless, Jr., 21, Scott City, was northbound on Kansas Road one mile north of Kansas 96 in Scott City.

The driver failed to yield at and collided with a 2006 Jeep Liberty driven by Chelsea R. Smith, 21, Scott City that was eastbound on Road 160.

Chambless Jr., Smith and an 11-month-old passenger in the jeep were transported to Scott County Hospital.

Chambless Jr. was not wearing a seat belt according to the KHP.
