HAYS – Two people were injured in an accident just before 4p.m. on Sunday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Fine, Ryan L. Fine, 40, Quenemo, was eastbound on Interstate 70 six miles west of Hays when the rear tire failed.

The driver and a passenger were thrown off of the motorcycle as it traveled into the south ditch.

Fine and the passenger Rosemary J. Fine, 38, Quenemo, were transported to Hays Medical Center.

They were wearing helmets and protective eyeglasses.
