PRATT – Law enforcement officials in Pratt County were investigation a suspicious package on one of the floors of the courthouse Tuesday afternoon.

A courthouse employee notified the Sheriff’s Office.

In a media release, the Sheriff’s office reported they followed their protocol, the courthouse was evacuated, and the Kansas Highway Patrol bomb squad was notified. The Kansas Highway Patrol notified the Wichita PD Bomb squad.

Before the bomb squad could respond, officials were able to determine a repairman left the package earlier in the day. He was contacted and it was confirmed this was his repair kit.

The all clear was given just after 4:30 p.m.
