GRANTVILLE- Two people were injured during a law enforcement chase just before 7 p.m. on Friday in Jefferson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the pursuit of a 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Marty Dean Stowe started in Lawrence in Douglas County and continued into Jefferson County.

The driver lost control of the Chevy. It went off the roadway into the ditch and vaulted into a tree row on the southwest side of 39th and Detlor Road.

Stowe and a passenger Chrystal Marie White, 42, Lawrence, were transported to Stormont Vail.

The were not wearing seat belts according to the KHP. The KHP did not report what prompted the chase.
