SHERIDAN COUNTY- A child died in an accident just after 7:30 a.m. on Friday in Sheridan County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Ford Edge driven by Jami Lynne Stevenson, 28, Quinter, was northbound on Kansas 23 and was passing a semi in dense fog.

The Ford struck a second semi head on.

A six-year-old in the Ford — Rileighann LeRae Fisher, Quinter — died in the crash.

Stevenson and the semi driver John H. Jacob Mosier, 29, Morland, were transported to Gove County Medical Center.

The KHP reported Fisher was properly restrained at the time of the accident. They were uncertain if the drivers were wearing seat belts.
