2 hospitalized after driver fails to yield

AUGUSTA – Two people were injured in an accident just after 8:30a.m. on Monday in Butler County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Honda passenger vehicle driven by Joe Edwin Garner, 67, Conway, AR., was westbound on South West 70th three miles west of Augusta, and failed to yield at Santa Fe Lake Road.

The vehicle collided with a 2004 Honda passenger driven by Theodore E. Cochran, 60, Augusta, which was northbound on Santa Fe. Lake Road.

Garner and a passenger Garner, Mary Elizabeth Garner, 68, Conway, AR., were transported to Wesley Medical Center.

Cochran was possibly injured, according to the KHP.

All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
