They said “No” to flu and “Yes” to food.

Participants in Sunday’s annual HaysMed free flu shot clinic handed over 2,140 pounds–a little more than one ton–of non-perishable food items which was donated to the Community Assistance Center, 208 E. 12th.

According to CAC, $100 in cash was also donated during the drive-through event at the hospital.

The 16th annual flu vaccination clinic, sponsored by the HayMed Foundation, provided shots to 3,493 people.

“We appreciate HaysMed doing this every year. Thanks again to them and the community for their generosity,” CAC said in a news release.
