Phillipsburg resident William R. Hoover passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at the Prairie Wind Villa Assisted Living in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 90.
He was born in Glade, KS on July 9, 1925, the son of Clarence & Clara (Overton) Hoover. His wife, Katherine, preceded him in death in 2011.
Survivors include his son, Barry Hoover, of Arlington, TX; daughter, Rhonda Surratt, of Panhandle, TX; brother, Charles Hoover, of Hickman, NE; sister, Meredith Roberts, of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mr. Hoover will lie in-state on Thursday, Dec. 3, from noon – 9 p.m. and again Friday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m.
