
SALINE COUNTY- Law enforcement authorities in Saline County are investigating a Kansas couple after a Thursday drug arrest.
A deputy stopped a vehicle for failure to maintain a lane shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday morning on Interstate 135, according to Saline County Sheriff’s Captain Roger Soldan.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, he detected the smell of marijuana.
During a search of the vehicle, 14.6 pounds of marijuana was discovered in the trunk and drug paraphernalia, including 4 ounces of marijuana wax, was found in the front of the vehicle.
Frank Moore, 44, and Shelly Moore, 46, both of Wichita, were taken into custody and booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no tax stamp.
Soldan indicated that the couple was returning to Wichita from Denver.
