WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Paige Lunsford and Chelsea Mason both scored 11 points and Elle Stein came off the bench and added 10 to lead the top-ranked Fort Hays State women’s basketball team to a 59-50 win over Central Missouri Thursday night at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The Tigers improve to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the MIAA while the Jennies fall to 2-7 and 1-3.

The Tigers used a 7-0 first quarter run to go up six and led 21-13 at the quarter break. A 14-2 second quarter run pushed the lead to 16 late in the second quarter. FHSU increased the lead to 21 inside three minutes to play in the third quarter but the Jennies scored the final 12 points to pull within 46-37 after three.
The Tigers dominated the glass, outrebounding UCM by nine and grabbed 23 offensive rebounds resulting in 17 second chance points. The Tigers shot 32-percent from the floor and were 8-of-30 from beyond the arc.
